Immanuel Communities is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Phlebotomist to work at Newport House, located at 6798 North 67th Plaza, Omaha, NE 68152. Newport House has 24 skilled nursing/rehabilitation and 72 long-term care suites.

This position will pay up to $22.06/hour.  Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Schedule: Day Shift (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) on a rotating two-week schedule:

• Week 1: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday
• Week 2: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

What You Will Do: 

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Phlebotomist in a long-term care (LTC) setting is responsible for collecting blood specimens from residents for laboratory testing while providing compassionate, resident-centered care. This role requires strong technical skills, patience, and the ability to work with elderly populations, including those with cognitive impairments. The Phlebotomist ensures accurate specimen collection, proper handling, and adherence to all safety and infection control standards. Supports and lives out Immanuel’s Mission and CHRIST Promises.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS

Education-

• Certified Nurse Aide/Assistant (CNA) certification required.

• Active member in good standing on the applicable state registry for CNA.
• Completion of an approved phlebotomy training program preferred.
• Current phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent) preferred.

Experience-

• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Certified Nurse Aide strongly preferred.
• Experience in a long-term care, geriatric, or healthcare setting preferred.

Other Requirements –

• Certification in Basic Life Support and First Aid is preferred or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire date required.

• Skilled in venipuncture, especially with difficult or fragile veins common in elderly populations

• Knowledge of physical, mental, spiritual, and social needs of the senior and/or frail elderly population and their families.
