Overview

Purpose of the Job:  

The overall purpose of this job is to ensure that the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary area.  The responsibilities of this job include maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils, using machine and manual cleaning methods.  Supports and lives out Immanuel’s Mission and CHRIST Promises.

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job

Washing & Sanitizing

  • Washing and sanitizing china, glassware, and tableware used for eating via machine and manual cleaning methods.
  • Washing and sanitizing pots, pans, cooking utensils used for cooking via machine and manual cleaning methods.

Cleaning

  • Thoroughly cleans the kitchen areas daily including food prep area, floors, counter tops, dishwashing area and any other areas of the kitchen as needed or requested.
  • Empties trash daily.
  • Keeps inventory of cleaning supplies and reports shortages as they occur.   

Other

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

 

Qualifications

Education-

 

  • High School Diploma/GED is preferred, but not required.

Experience-

 

  • No experience is required.

KSA- Knowledge Skills and Abilities-

  • Knowledge of sanitation and cleaning processes.
  • Knowledge of contents in an industrial kitchen.
  • Skills in operating dishwashing machine.
  • Skills in effective cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to verbally communicate in a professional, effective, and courteous manner.
  • Ability to follow directions.
