Immanuel Communities is seeking an Intern to work with our Advocacy & Government Relations team to work at Immanuel Home Office located at 1044 North 115th Street, Omaha, NE 68154.

 

Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

 

Job Duties & Skills Required

What You Will Do

This internship involves assisting with policy research, legislative tracking, and drafting policy materials, while also participating in events and outreach efforts. Interns may also support administrative tasks and work directly with senior staff. Successful candidates typically possess strong research and writing skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks, and an interest in policy and advocacy. 

 

  • Research and Analysis: Conducting research on specific policy issues, gathering data, and analyzing information to inform policy recommendations. 
  • Legislative Tracking: Monitoring legislative activity at the state and federal levels, tracking bills, and providing updates to relevant staff. 
  • Policy Writing: Drafting policy briefs, reports, memos, and other written materials to support policy initiatives. 
  • Event Support: Assisting with organizing and participating in events, including conferences, workshops, and outreach activities. 
  • Outreach and Communications: Developing and implementing outreach strategies to engage stakeholders and promote policy goals. 
  • Administrative Support: Providing administrative assistance to the team, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence. 
  • Direct Interaction with Staff: Work directly with all home office staff, including senior-level staff, policy experts and decision-makers, to gain insights into the policymaking process.

 

Skills & Requirements

High School Diploma/GED is required.

Obtained at least a sophomore status in a Bachelor degree program with completion of a minimum of 24 semester credit hours; or be enrolled in a Graduate degree program. Specific majors may vary for this type of internship such as a background in political science, public policy, or a related field. 

Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
