Immanuel Communities is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to work at Deerfield located at 13731 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50323.  Deerfield has 122 independent living apartment homes, 32 independent living patio homes, 20 assisted living, 24 residential care apartment homes and 30 long-term care/skilled nursing suites. 

The schedule for this Full time Days shift is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The position also includes an on-call rotation for one week each month.

Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

What You Will Do

Ensures building and equipment are in working order by performing preventative maintenance and repairing damage.

Completes work orders in a timely fashion.

Conducts general carpenter work using common hand and power tools.

Diagnoses mechanical problems.

Assembles structures such as furniture or pipe systems.

Repairs or replaces defective equipment parts.

Cleans and lubricates equipment.

Paints and patches walls, equipment, and structures.

Assembles, installs, and repairs electrical wiring.

Skills & Requirements

High School Diploma/GED is required.

Trade or Vocational Schooling is preferred

Equivalent years of work may substitute for education requirement.

One (1) year of facilities maintenance or related experience is required.

Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.
