Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking to work for an amazing organization by serving others and connecting with your co-workers?

 

Immanuel Communities is seeking an experienced Full-time Sous Chef to work at Grand Lodge, located at 4400 South 80th Street, Lincoln, NE 68516.  Grand Lodge has 109 independent and 10 assisted living apartment homes. This is not an entry-level position. (See below for job duties and required skills/experience.) 

 

This position primarily works 11:00am–7:00pm shifts and requires flexibility, including weekends and holidays, including 6:00am-2:00pm on Sundays to cover brunch service. Every attempt will be made to provide 2 consecutive days off each week.

 

This position will pay up to $25.00/hour.  Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Job Duties & Skills Required

What You Will Do

The responsibilities of this role include all types of food preparation, including but not limited to baking, grilling, stove-top and oven cooking, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. You will prepare meals from scratch while ensuring high standards of food safety and sanitation.
This role also supports daily kitchen operations, including overseeing staff, assisting with inventory, and contributing to special events such as our Sunday brunch service. The Sous Chef will help foster a positive team environment while delivering an excellent dining experience for residents and guests.

 

Skills & Requirements

Two (2) years of cooking experience above the level of fast food or fast casual dining is required.
Experience preparing recipes from scratch is required.
Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and a passion for food and serving others.
Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work weekends, including Sunday brunch service.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to receive feedback and professionally address team or resident concerns.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work in a kitchen environment with multiple work and storage areas.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support), or willingness to obtain (Immanuel will pay for training), is required.
Must be at least 19 years of age.
